Over the years the festival has built its reputation from the stage out, running a two-stage format so the music never stops.

This year the crowd had the chance to dance and sing along to headlining acts like Dan Mangan, Serena Ryder, Buffy Sainte-Marie and Shred Kelly.

Other acts included the Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer, NQ Arbuckle, the Rural Alberta Advantage and Old Man Luedecke.

Along with a slew of musical acts, the festival grounds were also speckled with a string of food vendors and other artisans selling their goods.

While Hinton’s music festival has packed up for another year, festival season isn’t over yet.

From Aug. 12 to 14 the tiny hamlet of Dunster, B.C. will host the 12th annual Robson Valley Music Festival.

Less than a month later, music lovers will descend on Jasper for the Jasper Folk Music Festival Sept. 9 to 11.

Vancouver’s highly acclaimed Delhi 2 Dublin and Edmonton’s folk-rock trio Scenic Route to Alaska will headline this year’s event. Festival organizers have also secured vintage folk band Rosie & the Riveters from Saskatoon along with west coast Canadian roots artist WiL, and more than a dozen other artists, including several local acts.
