On Jan. 2, Xairia Ursua Victoria Keel became the newest member of the Jasper family.
Born at 4:25 a.m. at the Hinton Healthcare Centre, she was the first baby from Jasper born in 2016.
Weighing 5 lbs, 14 ounces, she arrived seven days earlier than her due date and spent a week in the hospital before she could go home, according to her parents Alma Ursua and Adam Keel.Â
Both parents said the first two nights at home were tough, but since then the baby has settled down.
Xairia, pronounced ‘Zer ee ah,’ means gift of love, according to her mother.
