Shrieks of laughter could be heard across Lions Club Park as the local club held their third annual family fun barbecue and fundraiser on Father’s Day.
Lions Club member Soto Korogonas said utilizing the park on Father’s Day is important to him.
“I used to live just down the street when I was a kid so I’ve been coming to this park since its inception,” he said while pushing his two toddlers on the park’s swings. “It’s nice that I can now bring my kids—a fourth generation of Jasperites—to the same park.
“I can’t think of a better way to spend Father’s Day.”
Korogonas added that the family event was also a good way to drum up attention for the local club, which raises money for local causes.
“We’re all about promoting community and togetherness,” Korogonas said.
All the donations collected from the Father’s Day event will go back into the community.
