Calling all writers. After a nine-year hiatus the Jasper Municipal Library is relaunching Uncalibrateda creative writing group.
The group was first established in 2003, but folded five years later after many of the group's core members moved away or onto other endeavours.
Now that the library has moved into its new building, Janeen Keelan, the adult programmer for the library, said the time was right to relaunch the weekly writing group.
I was interested in starting Uncalibrated again because we have a huge writing community here and we now have the space, said Keelan.
All of our writing workshops do really well as far as our numbers go for programming, people want to write, and we have a lot of very creative people in town.
During its previous run the group published a self-titled literary magazine featuring poems, short fiction and visual art.
The library will host the weekly writing circle every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Rotary room. Writers of all genres and abilities are encouraged to come.
