Dear Editor,
Two pieces of news came in the beginning of January 2015. One from the Oxfam International with a study showing that the 85 richest people on the planet have the same wealth as the poorest 50 per cent (3.5 billon people).
The second came from the International Labor Organization (ILO), which says by 2019, more than 212 million people will be out of work, up from the current 201 million, according to the World Employment and Social Outlook–Trends 2015 (WESO).
It is obvious that the scale of global inequality is quite simply staggering, and the gap between the richest and the rest is widening fast.
Do you see any growth? Of course not! It is a myth! We have to face it: our future is very vulnerable. The unique, real purpose of Mr. Robin Campbell’s touring of the region is to prepare us for a new economical illness: we’re going to have fulminant ap-Prentice-citis.
