
Highway 16 has been closed today (Sunday, December 22) after a motor vehicle collision west of the town.
At 2:26 p.m. police closed the road between the Highway 93 junction and the Alberta/British Columbia border.
The incident was about 20 kilometres west of Jasper near Miette River.
According to Alberta 511, the road reopened at 4:59 p.m. to one lane alternating traffic with no passing and a speed reduction.
Collision investigation work is ongoing.
Major delays are expected on the highway. Check Alberta 511 before travelling.
