Five days ago, Jasper had two confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Today there is only one.
Alberta Health announced yesterday afternoon that there were 24 new confirmed recovered cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the total to 27. The change in the map indicates that one of those was from Jasper.
"This virus has challenged us all, and so many have risen to that challenge with hope and resilience," said Dr. Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health for Alberta.
"Our system has responded with strength and ingenuity, but I want Albertans to understand there will be challenges coming in the next weeks."
Hinshaw also announced yesterday a further 67 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the total amount of people diagnosed to 486.
Up to 34 of the total cases may be due to community transmission.
Hinton has one confirmed case and there is one in Grande Prairie. The most infected area in the province is the Calgary zone with 300 cases, 62 per cent.
Of the total cases, 21 are hospitalised, including ten in ICUs. Two deaths have been reported.
