There are now six active cases of COVID-19 in Jasper, according to the province's daily map update today (August 10).
This is an increase of five over the weekend.
For confidentiality reasons, Alberta Health does not provide any information about patients, including if the case is from a known exposure or community spread.
In the province, 108 new cases were confirmed on Friday, Aug. 7, 101 on Saturday, Aug. 8, and 48 on Sunday, Aug. 9.
鈥淭his is a reminder that COVID continues to be with us and we cannot turn our backs on this virus,鈥� said Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta鈥檚 chief medical officer of health in a provincial update on Monday.
鈥淐OVID is not going away. We all need to make decisions every day that make life safer regardless of if case numbers are rising or falling at any given time."
There are now 1,090 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta with 66 people in hospital, 14 of whom are in intensive care.
More than 10,380 Albertans have recovered from the virus, but 213 have died, an increase of five over the weekend.
鈥淟et鈥檚 all do our best to keep ourselves and each other safe," said Hinshaw.
"Respect physical distancing, wear a mask if you can鈥檛. Wash or sanitize your hands often, and isolate if you feel sick and get tested.鈥�
