Map reveals spread of COVID-19 across Alberta

As of March 19, Alberta had 146 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with cases in all zones of the province. There have been six hospitalizations, three ICU admissions and one death.

Alberta Health has released the following graphics that show the spread of the virus, case counts and characteristics.

In the province, there are 101 cases in the Calgary zone, 29 in the Edmonton zone, ten in the north zone, three in the south zone and three in the central zone - as indicated on the map below.

Jasper is located in the North zone, where there are currently ten cases - none of which appear to be in the Jasper area.

Alberta Health also released line graphs of confirmed case counts by day.

In this graph, the cases by day is determined by the type of suspected acquisition - broken into travel, close contact and suspected community transfer.

More than 17,000 people have been tested for COVID-19. Forty per cent of those are from Calgary, 33 per cent Edmonton, and nine per cent in the north zone.
