JASPER – Paid parking for visitors is once again coming into effect for the summer season and will be in place from Thursday (May 1) to Oct. 31.
The program primarily applies to the downtown core and nearby parking lots, while the adjacent residential streets are for resident parking only. Recovery areas are restricted to local traffic and contractors.
The 2025 rates are $4.50 an hour on-street, and $3.50 an hour or $17 a day in parking lots.
Jasperites are exempt from paid parking but require a permit. All residential and local business parking permits from last year will be renewed automatically before May 1.
According to the municipality, those with a valid resident permit can simply park and walk away since the resident permit program no longer requires on-street action, such as using the app or scanning a QR code.
Maximum time limits still apply, including two hours maximum for street parking downtown.
Residents can check the status of their permit in the HotSpot App or website under “My Permits”. Those who do not see a permit in their account on May 1 can contact HotSpot directly at [email protected] or 1-855-712-5888.
To apply for a residential permit or for more details about the program,
Residents can also apply by bringing their vehicle registration and proof of residency to the Administration Office at 303 Pyramid Lake Road, Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.
