This past Saturday the Jasper Atom Bears hockey team had a home date with the Edson Sabres.
Jasper was looking to keep their undefeated season intact, and boy did they come to play.
It was one of the first times all season Jasper had their complete team.
From the first drop of the puck Jasper put its foot on the gas and never let up.
Dustin Derksen started the game with a quick hat trick with Grayden Henderson (Grado) and Mr. Myles Misskey getting the apples.
All three lines were clicking and firing pucks on net.聽
That poor Edson goalie saw more rubber than a dead skunk on the Trans Canada highway.
Even though Jaifred Mota and Louis Campeau were kept off the score sheet their hustle and determination set the tone for the game.
After two periods the Bears had already scored seven goals.
As it is for every good team you need to be well rounded and that鈥檚 what the Bears are.
While the forwards were firing on all cylinders, the back end was doing its thing and playing shut down D.
The goalie tandem of Carter 鈥淕love Hand鈥� Schmidt and William 鈥淐ool as a Cucumber鈥� Routledge made the key timely saves and Jasper walked out of the rink that day with an 11 to 4 victory.
Players to also find the score sheet were Carson Miller, Ethan Gibbons, Max Lescard and last but not least Sebastian Oeggerli (Bassy).
Next weekend Jasper hits the road looking for another victory before the Christmas break.
