The Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce will receive $28,800 of federal shop local funding, which will go towards encouraging patronage of community businesses.
The funding goes towards local businesses so they can reach the local market and beyond.
The Executive/Board and Administrative team are thrilled to be actively engaging in shop local, said Pattie Pavlov, executive director, in a June 24 news release.
This federal funding will give local business(es) the opportunity to up their game and, in some case(s), start playing in the ever-growing digital market. Thank you to all those within the federal government for understanding and acting upon the importance of this funding for small business(es) in our community.
Some potential ways that businesses can use the funds include enhancing digital presence and offering on-line purchases and deliveries.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, community Chambers have truly been a lifeline for businesses, added Ken Kobly, Alberta Chambers of Commerce President and CEO, in the release.
As we transition to reopening and recovery, we still have a long road ahead to rebuild our economy. This Federal funding will help Chambers do what we do best: support local job creators.
A second round of funding applications is now being processed.
