It is no surprise that getting started is the biggest part of any challenge, agreed? Welcome to 2022!
It is also no surprise that many businesses in our community are again pivoting to meet the challenges the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus presents to every person in the community as well.
Hope remains eternal is a cliché to be sure, but it also provides a modicum of comfort. JPCC understands the struggle, our executive, board and admin team are all in some form or another affected by the most recent struggles businesses face. Be it personally or professionally, everyone needs to continue to hold fast and be kind.
The Chamber on its own, is stable; however, it would be remiss to not say that as an organization our resources are also strained. From organizing to cancelling events while mitigating the financial obligation attached, to arranging for receipt and distribution of rapid tests for business, advocating with all levels of government and finally to maintaining day-to-day operations, the team is feeling the strain along with you.
During this time, COVID-19 has not been partial and neither has the Chamber, collaborating with the entire community to meet challenges and strategize toward economic recovery. Having said that, if you have benefitted from the Chamber’s work on behalf of business in Jasper, please endeavour to renew your membership as soon as possible. If you are not a member, now is the time to join us so we can continue our work, simply put - help us to help you. Beyond advocacy, there are a myriad of value-added programs to save you money, time and resources that you can access as a member. In these times, who doesn’t need a leg up whenever they can get one?
Our Chamber is completely dues driven, in other words, exists on the continuing support of businesses as members, not government or other non-profit supports. Sector, size, all completely irrelevant to the work we do, daily for our members and of course, when required, with visitors needing information or referral.
Wishing everyone in Jasper the absolute best for 2022 with hope and health remaining at the fore.
