Writing this in December, already so soon! It is edition six, the end of 2021 is around the corner and still so much to say and do!

The holiday season brings so many more opportunities to say thank you to our membership, partners and friends who support our work and invite us to the table to share our perspectives and suggestions.

The most difficult part of this monthly contribution is that each month there is the anticipation that the challenges of the past two holiday seasons and everything in between will be behind us. That leads to reminiscing about classic holiday songs. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas is the musical equivalent of a warm hug; a gently melancholic melody sings out a narrative of festive hope, telling of a nostalgia for past times happy golden days of yore but faith in the future From now on, our troubles will be out of sight. Doing a bit of research, I must credit classic FM radio, Maddy Shaw Roberts for so eloquently summing up how we are feeling here at JPCC.

Nostalgia aside and hope being something that cannot be put in the budget (Wayne Hnatyshin), JPCC has faith the resilience of our business community will continue into 2022! It has not been an easy slog and all of us appreciate that many on your executive and board are business owners themselves. The creativity and out of the box thinking to mitigate ongoing changes and the ever-changing landscape have been remarkable to say the least.

2022 is a hallmark year for the Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce. For 70 years, this organization has been dedicated to supporting the membership with advocacy and supporting the community with assisting efforts to make Jasper an ideal place to live, work and play! Watch for dedicated events to celebrate this milestone, we promise it will be historic! Speaking of historic, did you know Robson House started to become a reality for the Robson House in 1922? A whole host of things are planned to celebrate the House and the Robson family over the next several months culminating in a 100th anniversary event!

And so, in the spirit of the holidays. JPCC wishes everyone in our community businesses and residents alike, the happiest of holidays. Celebrate as you wish, play safe and above all enjoy!
