Jasper Victim Services and now the Crisis Team will host their 13th annual charity golf tournament on Sept. 10.
The tournament will take place at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge golf course and have a shotgun start with all the teams teeing off simultaneously from different holes.
Thank you for your continued support of our flagship fundraiser, said Jordan Tucker, fundraising co-ordinator.
The ongoing success of this event provides the tools to continue leading support services and assistances to victims of crime and trauma in our area.
There will be two teams on every hole for the start and three teams of three on each of the par 5s with a total of 156 players this year.
The day will start at 10 a.m. and end around 4:30 p.m. with a small reception thanking all the participants for all the continued support in the Jasper victim services.
Throughout the course of the day, golfers will come to holes with different sponsors and proximity prices that are spread out along the course.
Some of the sponsors that will be on the golf course will be Patricia Street Deli, Cocos Caf矇, Earls, Liquor lodge, Home Hardware and many more local businesses.
A silent auction will be hosted online to also help raise funds in support of the Jasper Victim Services and the Crisis Team.
The mission of Jasper Victim Services is to aid and assist victims of crime and tragedy by providing a community support program in partnership with the RCMP.
The Crisis Team, meanwhile, is under development to assist victims of trauma from non-criminal incidents.
The objective is that both victims of crime and those who have been through a traumatic event - car accident or back country injuries, for example - will still be able to receive assistance when they have exhausted all their other options.
This year, the charity will remain the Jasper Victim Services primary fundraiser, but the funds will be held by the Jasper Community Team Society and also fund the Crisis Team.
The Jasper Victim Services currently has a total of 10 advocates who have agreed to volunteer for both agencies and will perform basically the same duties that they have been doing in past years.
All the funds that get raised at the tournament and through the silent auction will be held separately of the Jasper Community Team Societys budget.
The funds will the assist in providing essentials such as meals, accommodation, travel, gas cards, as required to people who are victims of crime or have experienced a traumatic event.
