A 41-year-old man from Brule, near Hinton, has been criminally charged following an incident last Friday.
On Friday, December 20, an Amber Alert was issued for a 14-month-old boy from Brule.
The alert was cancelled at about 5 p.m. when police said both the boy and his father were found unharmed - but the father had been taken into police custody.
The father, Cody Shane Armstrong, has now been charged with choking while committing an assault, uttering threats, mischief under $5,000, unauthorised possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Police said Armstrong was arrested without incident on December 20 and was remanded into custody after a judicial hearing.
He is set to appear in Hinton Provincial Court on January 15, 2020 via CCTV.
In a press release, police said no further information will be provided as this matter is now before the courts.
