With winter right around the corner, what better way to get rid of those winter clothes that you dont use any more than to donate them?

For the fourth year running, Community Outreach Services with the Municipality of Jasper has partnered with Lol禱 Jasper to run the Coat Rescue Program, which originated from Lol禱 Jaspers coat recycling program.

We are looking for donations of winter apparel, said outreach worker Nichole Cambridge in an email.

If you have any over-stock of items, or gear from previous seasons that youre interested in donating, we will happily accept any items.

Donors can bring a lightly used winter coat to Lol禱 Jasper and receive a $50 gift card toward a new Lol禱 coat.

Cambridge added how the program tied in nicely with Santas Anonymous.

Lol禱 will only accept coat donations, and Community Outreach Services will take coat donations as well as all other lightly used winter items such as boots, gloves and toques, but they are especially in need of kids gear.

Then we have clothing for families or individuals that may need some help keeping warm in the winter, as this is a common need in Jasper when it gets cold, Cambridge said.

Donations can be made from October to December.

For anyone who would like to donate they can call Nichole Cambridge at 780-852-6542 or call the general line at 780-852-2100.

Donated winter gear is available at Community Outreach Services.
