Western and Country legend Corb Lund is coming to Jasper.
The Albertan singer-songwriter is set to release his first album of original material in five years, Agricultural Tragic, and has announced a 25-date Canadian tour to match.
He鈥檒l be in Jasper May 7.
Lund, from Taber, AB, has multiple CCMA, Juno, and international award nominations and wins. His seventh album, Cabin Fever, debuted at number one on the Billboard Canadian Charts in 2012 and three of his records have been certified Gold.
Of his new music, Lund said: 鈥淚 worked really hard on this album - harder than I鈥檝e ever worked before.
鈥淭his time around I took my time and wrote more songs, rehearsed more with the band, and explored sounds much more deeply.
鈥淚t took some time, but I鈥檓 really proud of this one and I鈥檓 excited to finally
be able to share it.鈥�
Agricultural Tragic is described as a record with 鈥渋nstantly detectible depth and energy鈥�.
Its title draws a taut thread backwards in time through Waylon, Williams - even before Robert Johnson - to that pre-fenced and perilous era of exchange between untamed infinity and we humans striving to make this land ours, using heart, hope and horses.
The album鈥檚 first single, 90 Seconds of Your Time, is available now for download and the full album will be released on April 24.
Lund performs in Jasper on May 7 at the Legion for a fundraising show in support of veterans. Tickets cost $75 and are available online at ticketweb.ca from February 14.
