Cheers to Jasper Pride this year with a special glitter beer from Jasper Brewing Company.
Head brewer Spike Baker has created barrels of the shining, swirling masterpiece to celebrate the festival鈥檚 tenth anniversary.
This is Jasper Brewing Co鈥檚 fifth annual beer for Pride.
Usually the master brewers create a whole new beer, but this year wanted something a bit different.
Baker said: 鈥淲e already have Jasper the Bear which is really well connected with the town.
鈥淲e wanted to do one related to that and use the Jasper image and put a little extra into it.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a beer we know everyone already loves and it just has a little extra pizazz.鈥�
The signature Jasper the Bear beer has been loaded up with edible glitter, usually used in cakes and cocktails.
Baker said it was his first time using the sparkly substance.
鈥淚t鈥檚 pretty glittery,鈥� he said
鈥淵ou can really see it when it moves around, it bends and waves in there.鈥�
For every pint sold, $1 will be donated to Jasper Pride Festival Society.
Justin Melnyk, manager of Jasper Brewing Co, said: 鈥淚t is something they have been really on board with, them supporting us and us them, and it鈥檚 pretty well supported in town.鈥�
The glitter beer will officially launch at Jasper Brewing Co on Thursday (April 25) at 9 p.m., followed by a comedy show starting at 11 p.m.
The beer will be available at other places in town too, including Famoso and Liquor Lodge.
