
Maligne Lake Road and the Icefield Parkway (Highway 93) are closing for avalanche safety and control work.
Maligne Lake Road closes at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 27 until further notice, said a Parks Canada press release.
It will be closed from just past Maligne Lake Canyon.
The Icefield Parkway closes intermittently for avalanche control work on Sunday, March 29, starting at 2 p.m. with delays of up to two hours.
The closures will be from just south of the Icefield Centre to Saskatchewan River Crossing, 152 kilometres south of Jasper.
The road is expected to fully reopen that evening of (Sunday, March 29).

Closures in Jasper National Park
Parks Canada has closed vehicle access to non-essential roadways in Jasper.
As well as washrooms, campgrounds and. information and administration centres closing, access to Lake Annette and Lake Edith Day Use Areas is now closed.
Highway 16, the Yellowhead Highway, and Highway 93, the Icefield Parkway, are still open for traffic and commercial traffic is still permitted on Highway 16.
Access to business and critical services, as well as resident access to and from their homes, is not affected.
Parks Canada is continuing basic critical services like road maintenance, avalanche control and forecasting, search and rescue and wildlife management.
