Voting day came early for pupils at Jasper Elementary School as they took part in their own election on Friday.
Grade 5 and 6 pupils have been following the Canadian federal election as part of their curriculum.
They have discussed politics in class, visited the Legislature Building in Edmonton, and decided who would get their vote.
The students held a mock election on Friday with volunteers taking part as clerks and polling stations set up in the classroom.
Student Marco Bulfon said he was extremely happy to participate.

Teacher Jos矇e Ruel said: They wish their vote would count for real.
They are very interested and when we watched the debates they had their opinions on the environment and money, the economy. That was very interesting.
Ruel said politics can be a subject that is difficult to get into but pupils have been involved and happy to volunteer and the exercise helps prepare them for the future.
The student vote is taking place across Canada and CivX collects voting data from pupils across the country to compare it to the real election.
The results were released on Monday and were similar to the real thing.
Overall, the Liberal Party led the way with 109 seats, the NDP won in 98 ridings, the Conservative Party got 94 seats, and the Green Party and the Bloc Quebecois came away with 28 and 9.
In Alberta the Conservative party still dominated, winning 30 seats with 46 per cent of the vote.
But in Jasper, both the elementary school and Ecole Desroschers voted for the NDP to win.
