It has been a busy week for Jasper pharmacist Merv Bashforth.
The Pharmasave owner described the situation as a complete moving target.
Customers have been flooding the store for medications, information, prescriptions and sanitizing products.
But Bashforth keeps bringing more stock in - and its not just for the general public.
First responders dont have any hand sanitizer so were going to fix them up, said Bashforth.
We are bringing stuff in all the time to make sure first responders and clinics keep themselves healthy and to get things out in the community.
Products like hand and surface sanitizers are the fastest to fly off the shelves, but Bashforth says the supplies will keep coming in.
Wholesalers and sellers putting purchase restrictions on some items so stock may be limited, but Bashforth wont let the community go without.
Our customers have been fantastic, said the pharmacist.
They have understood the potential limit of quantities and are getting what will help themselves get healthy and continue to help stop the spread.
Bashforth said he checks the Alberta Health Services website multiple times a day for the latest advice.
He said his most important message is for people to know that going to a hospital, clinic or pharmacy wont get you a test for COVID-19. You have to call 811.
If you are feeling sick, stay home and take Alberta Healths , call 811 or call the Pharmasave branch.
Alberta Healths online assessment asks the same questions as a health worker on the 811 line and will help you determine whether you should be tested for COVID-19.
Pharmasave is also offering delivery services for those isolated or in quarantine.
