Atomic Blonde is a film that slowly pulls you in from the start.

It is a throwback to the 80s in the way of music and lightning.  If you think of neon, slick sets, 007 and a constant rolling camera you will get its essence.  The camera work in the movie is some of the best that I have had the pleasure of viewing.  The last time I have watched camera work that amazing is in the movie, Hugo.

The director of photography is the same person that filmed Hobbs and Shaw as well as Deadpool 2.  Jonathan Sela has an eye for the landscape  and knows how to integrate the action into the shot.

The action is a hundred percent and Charlize Theron makes it looks like she is a veteran of mixed martial arts.  There is a scene where she takes out numerous opponents with a garden hose and makes it look like a walk in the park.  Theron is known to be relentless in her training and it shows in every action sequence in this spy thriller.  I would even dare say that she is the female version of John Wick. Actually that should not come as a surprise to me because the director of Atomic Blonde was a consultant on John Wick.

The story coupled with sharp dialogue makes the movie fun to watch. Atomic Blonde 2 has just been announced so check out this film if you have not already.
