Kevin Kritiques: Ford v Ferrari

I have to admit I was not aware of the Ford versus Ferrari story. I love vintage automobiles, especially cars and trucks from the 50s and 60s which made the film a must watch.

I have to admit I was not aware of the Ford versus Ferrari story.

I love vintage automobiles, especially cars and trucks from the 50s and 60s which made the film a must watch.

Matt Damon and Christian Bale are great, but I think the cars stole the show.  The two actors are constantly being overshadowed by the Superformance replicas.

You can actually buy any of the automobiles featured in the movie from the Superformance automobile company.

The movie is interlaced with fact and fiction which made it enjoyable to view.

The focus of the movie is on who can win the next 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

If you are a car manufacturer and want to sell cars winning the Le Mans would be the way to do it.

Ferrari was a dominant winner of the race in the early 60s and Ford decided to take a shot at the title.

The Ford GT40 changed history and the film showcases the car as well as Ken Miles along with Carrol Shelby.

The cutting technology that went into the GT is a fascinating story which later proves that Ford had what it took to win the Le Mans.

Ask my neighbour Vince who has a couple of Shelby Cobras and he will tell you that Ford did indeed defeat Ferrari several times at the Le Mans.

I looked it up and he was right based on historical records of the world’s oldest annual endurance race.

This film is a must see for any racing and car enthusiast.

Kevin Lazzari, owner of the Video Stop in Jasper, is reviewing movies nominated for Oscars.

Ford v Ferrari won Best Film Editing and Best Sound Editing at the Academy Awards February 9. It was also nominated for Best Picture and Best Sound Mixing.
