Have you ever watched the trailer of a movie and hoped the actual film would be half as good? I have viewed movies with the trailer being the best part of the movie. It happens occasionally and we wonder who edited the trailer to make the film look so good. I was hoping in the case of Free Guy that would not be the case. I thought the trailer was fantastic and could not wait to watch the latest Ryan Reynolds movie.
Free Guy is almost two hours long, and Ryan Reynolds does what he does best. The producers of Hollywood know that Reynolds guarantees success, and Free Guy did well at the box office. For a pandemic movie, it could not have done better, and there are talks about a sequel. Canadians could not be prouder of our greatest export. Reynolds has come a long way since the days of Van Wilder. It seems if you add Ryan Reynolds into your project it will be a runaway freight train. He is one of a kind and I hope he keeps making movies.
The fact that Free Guy is not based on a book and even a comic makes it truly original. The two writers who came up with the idea of a non-playable character with free will are very clever. Gamers will get the references and comedy fans will eat this movie up. I give it a 10 out 10 because I love comedy sci-fi if that is even a thing.
