If there's somethin' strange in the neighborhood, who ya gonna call? If you know the answer you know the movie. At the time, supernatural comedies were not even a thing, but Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis decided to change that. I am sure no one would have thought that it would turn into a franchise. The movie was produced for $25 million and took in $282.2 million at the box office. The film has become a cult classic and generated a collectible market. If you are a movie nerd like myself, you wanted a piece of the movie. I remember having a replica Ghostbusters Ecto-1 licence plate displayed in my shop and thinking how cool it was.

The attention to detail is what separated the movie apart from any others produced that year. The 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex could not have been a better choice for the Ghostbusters vehicle. The logo on the side of the car was iconic, and the shots of that car blasting out of the Hook and Ladder Company number 8 firehouse were incredible. My favorite scene was the car speeding down the Queensboro Bridge with the lights flashing. Throw in a 112.5-foot-tall Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and now we are talking.

I think the entire cast from Ghostbusters became a superstar in the movie industry. I always looked forward to films starring any of the Ghostbusters cast. With the newest Ghostbusters playing at theatres, 37 years has passed since the original. Who else is excited to see what Hollywood has come up with for the newest movie?
