The title of the film really does represent what the movie is about. The opening scene has a young couple skydiving and everything that could go wrong does. The initial scene sets the tone and foundation for the rest of the film. The sequence is so well done viewers might even be inclined to rewind it and watch it again.

Dennis Dugan writes and directs this exaggerated comedy. Dugan is known for Happy Gilmore, You Don't Mess with the Zohan, and Big Daddy. I think if I had known he was the writer I would have been prepared for the zany comedy that followed. Love, Weddings & Other Disasters is probably the most refined movie that Dugan has created. It presents itself with a more serious quality then his other works, but there is still the craziness that his fans crave.

Maggie Grace is fantastic as the girl causing the disasters and the story revolves around her becoming a new wedding planner. What could go wrong planning a wedding? Jeremy Irons and Diane Keaton round out the comedy with their unusual love story. The seasoned actors know how physical comedy works. They both have an elegance about them even when they are tripping over furniture and whatever else is in their path.

This film is not going to win any awards, but if you are up for a light comedy with multiple storylines this film might provide a laugh or two.
