Once in a while I will visit the classics and One Million Years B.C. was on my watch list.  With all the extra free time, viewing movies that I have always wanted to watch is very easy.

Why would I pick One Million Years B.C. to view out of my entire list?  The answer is a caveman movie and Raquel Welch.  I secretly love monster movies, cult classics, and films that involve cheesy animation.

One Millions Years B.C. seemed to fit the bill on some many levels.  You throw in Raquel Welch and now we have a movie worth the investment. Welch's career was largely based on her being the blonde bombshell in this film. With three lines of dialogue only in Hollywood could you become that famous.

For me the monsters stole the show and I almost fell off the couch with the appearance of the first gigantic lizard.  The cheesiness factor was a solid ten.  The fact that the film was made in 1966 shows us how much special effects have progressed.  The beauty of this film is the lack of computer generated imagery.

The void of a plot and the bizarre music score makes it an instant cult classic. I am thankful that this film was restored and I had the time to check it off my list.

One Million Years B.C. (1966) is available on DVD, Blu-Ray and for digital download.
