It is hard to believe that the original Star Wars movie was made in 1977.

I remember being thrilled that the Chaba theatre was bringing in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.  I remember the line-up around the block to see the first Stars Wars movie ever made.  If you were a sci-fi fan you stood in that line till you received a ticket to get into the Chaba.

The level of excitement was unmatched in my experience as a moviegoer.

Now fast forward to 2020 and Star Wars: Episode IX is now available to view.  I have enjoyed each and every film in the epic saga of Star Wars.

It seems that when they make a new film the fans are divided on each film. There is always controversy and fans will analyze and tell the current director and writer what they did wrong.

J.J. Abrams is no exception and fans have been brutally honest how they feel about his movie.  Abrams has produced and directed some of the greatest sci-fi to date and I hope he continues making more Star Wars movies.

Each director must live up to George Lucas and it might be hard because the bar was very high to start with.  To put a new spin on your film and not upset the fans would be an undaunting task.

Thankfully there are creative people in the film industry that rise up to the challenge. I look forward to the next project in the Star Wars franchise no matter who writes or directs it.
