The initial release for the movie, The Gentlemen was December 3, 2019.

The fact that it is June and Hollywood has shut down and there is not a blockbuster in sight is frightening.  My whole world revolves around cinema and when friends told me to watch The Gentlemen because of its artistic contribution to the film world I was at a crossroads.

Do I watch it and be disappointed or should I take the chance?

I knew it was a Guy Ritchie film and he has never let me down in the past.  Ritchie knows how to spin a tale or two with a music score that accents each scene.

The story within the story is one of his trademarks and its works every time.  His films have several layers to dissect and the viewer could watch the movie a few times to truly capture the essence of the film.  His movies are very visual and The Gentlemen is no exception.  I was drawn in from the opening credits and enjoyed the ride right up to the final credits.

Guy Ritchie reminds of Tarantino because they both know how to use dialogue in its proper context.  There is a definite formula that every director uses and Guy Ritchie has mastered the equation.

I am glad I took the one hour and 53 minutes to watch a unique piece of cinema in our current void of box office hits.  Thankfully the film was released before Hollywood was put on pause and we all can sit back and enjoy a great film.
