Have you ever watched a movie so good you decided to watch it again right after you viewed it for the first time? Walter Mitty is one of those films you wish would never end. The movie starts out slow, and you wonder if anything exciting will happen. Then bam, they throw a curveball that you do not see coming. The story flows so well you do not even realize you are being taken on a journey that will be life-changing for the central character.Â
Ben Stiller is the star as well as the director and producer. Ben knows how to make a movie that engages the audience. The movie has the perfect music score that does not overpower the film. The location shoots are amazing, and we even get to see a glimpse of Iceland. There is a scene where Stiller longboards and it showcases the incredible scenery of Iceland. I am positive tourism in Iceland went up after the movie was released.
Kristen Wiig is the perfect counterpart as Walter Mitty’s secret crush. She plays the part straight, and considering she is a seasoned comedian, it must have been an unique role to adapt to. The pivotal point in the movie for me was the introduction of Sean Penn’s character. If you have watched Fast Times and loved Jeff Spicoli, you know no one does a cameo better than Penn.
If you are looking for a movie with a great story and fantastic cast with Ben Stiller’s stamp, look no further.
