Dear Editor,
Part of Jasper Brewing’s goal is to showcase our community – to share with the world all that is special and unique about this place. Jasper is our home, we were born and raised here and we have a responsibility to the community because we’re a part of it.
At its simplest, we make and serve good beer and we have a good time doing it. We’re always happy to crack a joke and share a laugh with our friends. Recently we ran an add in The Local with a joke aimed at Parks Canada - our valued friend and partner. In retrospect that doesn’t align with our core values. It’s ok to laugh with your friends, but it’s not ok to laugh at your friends. We know better than that and we screwed up.
We want to contribute to building up this wonderful community we’re all a part of – it’s why we do what we do. We want to assure everyone in Jasper that we are committed to strengthening this community and all those who proudly call it home, to celebrating our collective uniqueness and sharing that with the world. That’s what we’re here for, and from time to time we might stumble a bit, because we are all just people after all. But we’re not afraid to learn from our mistakes and keep on building up this amazing community.
