Canada Post is dealing with 'Christmas level volumes' of deliveries and advising Canadians to expect delays.
The agency said Canadians are shopping more online while they're isolating at home and postal workers are processing and delivering parcels at levels only experienced during the busiest weeks of Christmas.
It is also taking longer to process parcels because of additional safety measures put in place for Canada Post employees, including physical distancing inside facilities "that were never designed for keeping people two metres apart".
"We are working hard to serve our customers while doing so in a responsible manner," said a Canada Post spokesman in an email.
"The safety of our people and the communities we serve must come first."
