Get ready to shred: Marmot Basin opens November 8.
The Jasper ski hill's November opening date was weather-dependent but has now been confirmed by Marmot.
Snow has been piling up on the mountain for weeks and the snow guns have been blasting fresh powder over the hill to get it ready for the new season.
So get set for another winter of fun at Jasper National Park's only ski resort.
The hill hosts competitions, events and school groups all season long and offers lessons, rentals and a retail store, and has dining options at mid-mountain and the base.
And this year Marmot has a new head honcho.
Longtime president and CEO of Marmot Basin Dave Gibson retired at the end of June after leading the resort for 32 years.
He has been succeeded by Jason Paterson, who has been vice president of operations and maintenance at Marmot Basin since 2012 and was tram manager at Jasper SkyTram from 2000 to 2002.
