Marmot Basin is still 'fully open for business' amid a wave of event cancellations in Canada over COVID-19 concerns.
"Wide open spaces, great air and fabulous snow conditions. What better place to be?" said Brian Rode, vice-president of Marmot, in an email.
The Jasper ski hill issued a statement today (Friday, March 13) to say they were monitoring the situation on a daily basis and taking appropriate cautions.
"We are committed to the health and safety of our guests and employees," reads the statement.
"At this time, we are fully open for business."
The risk in Alberta and western Canada from COVID-19 is currently low.
"We are in regular contact with local and provincial health authorities to ensure we are aware of the current recommendations," said Marmot Basin's statement.
The ski hill said it has increased the frequency of surface cleaning and sanitation.
"We are encouraging and reminding guests and staff about effective hygienic procedures, such as thorough hand washing, avoiding touching your face and reducing contact with others," said the statement.
Updates will be available on Marmot Basin's website .
