More than a hundred Jasperites paid their respects to honour members of the military and their sacrifices during the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Jasper Cenotaph on Nov. 11.
This year's ceremony is part of the first annual Veterans Appreciation Event, which ran for the first two weeks of November.
This included a series of ceremonies, such as National Indigenous Veterans Day, Jasper’s Salute to Women Veterans and Remembrance Day.
This year marks the centennial of the poppy, Remembrance Day and Veterans Week.
More than 65,000 Canadians died in World War I and more than 50,000 in conflicts since.
