Have some salsa skills you’re itching to share? Want to learn a few basics about salsa dancing?
Then you should head on down to Commemoration Park on Aug. 31.
The Municipality of Jasper’s Jasper Settlement Services is hosting a Salsa Tarde as a part of their monthly community connections activities.
Jasper Settlement Services wants to help reconnect locals with the culture and diversity that Jasper has to offer after dealing with over a year of the COVID-19 pandemic.Â
There will be two-to-three different volunteers at the event that will help to teach a few basic skills to salsa dancing.
The idea behind the event is to invite everyone in the community, their friends, family and guests to have a fun outing, listen to music and learn some new salsa dancing skills.
If you feel you have some salsa dancing experience, feel free to take the leave and show off some moves and teach.
This is the first year that the event is happening and in the hopes that it is a success, Jasper Settlement Services would love to host it again.
This will not be a large-scale event.
Listen to music, have a free dance and share salsa styles with newcomers and Jasper locals.
If you’d like to stay up to date on what other programs Settlement services is offering, please feel free to follow their Facebook page (@JasperSettlementServices).
