On Nov. 26, local shops around Jasper participated in the annual Moonlight Madness.

The streets were filled with shoppers roaming around downtown looking for deals and discounts.

Moonlight Madness takes place every year around the downtown core of Jasper.

The event usually coordinates around the well-known Black Friday.

For the local stores, this event brings them some of the best business they receive throughout the year.

Some of the local stores will even extend their moonlight madness sales throughout the entire weekend.

The Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce (JPCC) supports and helps coordinate the annual event.

Moonlight Madness is about the community coming together to meet and great as well as supporting all the local businesses.

The event also gave locals and those visitors fortunate enough to be in town over the weekend the opportunity to see what Jasper is all about, welcoming merchants, warm beverages, carolers and extended hours.

The offers varied from store to store, but shoppers found discounts, samples and special offers from the local merchants.

During Moonlight Madness, JPCC had hidden one of its stuffed Jasper the Bear in one of the businesses that participated in the event.

Those who found the bear and took a selfie with it and mentioned where they found it were entered to win a gift basket filled with Jasper the Bear merchandise.

With the Restriction Exemption Program in place, all shoppers had to follow public health rules and restrictions.
