Jasper’s ice was full this weekend as families took the chance to skate with two very special guests.
Jasper the Bear joined children and their parents as they skated around the arena, giving out high-fives and hugs.
And at 11 a.m. Santa Claus himself took to centre ice and sat in a Christmas throne to meet the young Jasperites.
The event was put on by Santas Anonymous with all proceeds going towards the initiative.
Santas Anonymous raises money for the Jasper community, assisting those in need over the holiday season. Organized by the Jasper Community Team Society, the program helps about 70 family groups each year or about 180 individuals.
The next fundraiser is Ugly Holiday Sweater Day on December 20.
Santas Anonymous invites you to wear your ugliest holiday sweater and donate $2 to the cause.
Monetary donations are being accepted throughout December, with cash, cheques and e-transfers welcomed.
Make cheques out to the 'Jasper Community Team Society' or send e-transfers to [email protected]. Cash can be received at Community Outreach Services at 627 Patricia Street, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
