Jasperites brought down the house at Habitat last week at the annual Dinner Theatre Variety Show and Musical Revue.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the Holiday Youth Theatre Group opened the nights with a mashup of favourite holiday programs edited to fit the stage by Ryan Davis and Matthew Turnbull.
McKenzie Byatt, Brooklyn Howes, Eden Kait Davis and Kiara Davis were the Grinch, Frosty, Kevin, Santa and John McClane in the performance, called Too Much Eggnog.
Guests enjoyed a charcuterie dinner from Glenda the Great while they watched the show, and the second half of the night brought a showcase of local talent.
鈥淚 am always surprised by the talent we have in town,鈥� said Marianne Garrah, director of Habitat for the Arts.
鈥淭his is the first time a lot of these people were on our stage.鈥�
Magician Elijah had the audience in stitches while he performed his tricks and Stephen Nelson and Matthew Turnbull performed a skit called Who鈥檚 On First.
Musical numbers came from Sophia Mastrianni on piano, Brian Lackey and Marie-Pierre Flipo-Bergeron on guitars, and mother-son duo Jaqui and Ryan Davis.
鈥淎 son and mother team is so sweet and so homegrown,鈥� said Garrah.
鈥淲e try to get a variety.鈥�
And the nights鈥� closing act was in a class of its own.
Fay Lovsky performed on the theremin, an electronic musical instrument controlled without physical contact, and a musical saw.
Lovsky is holding a solo performance on February 8 at Habitat and the Dinner Theatre returns on November 25 and 26 this year.
