The TD Summer Reading Program, online since June 15, kicked off on July 10 at the Jasper Municipal Library.
And there will be booklets and kits available for young folks ages four to 12 throughout the summer too.
Kavell Munro, children's programmer at the library, said: "There's a whole bunch of activities you can do on the website. Keep on top of your reading each week [for example]."
To kick off the first week of fun, Munro put booklets together made up of colouring pages and instructions for various activities from both the TD and Alberta summer reading sites.
In the weeks that follow, Munro will create kits of varying themes that she will put out for young folks who want to pick them up.
"Some weeks it will be a craft, some weeks it might be an experiment children can do with their parents," she said.
"They will be in a bucket in the foyer of the Jasper Library and Cultural Centre for pick-up, available each Friday until Aug. 28."
Munro acknowledged that some may not want to pick up the kits, in light of the COVID protocol.
"Pick them up at your own comfort level," she said.
And you don't have to be registered in the reading program to pick up a kit.
