Edson RCMP are charging two males for the theft of a truck.

On Jan. 17 at around 2:35 a.m., police observed a vehicle driving on Edson Drive with no tail lights illuminated and conducted a traffic stop.

Officers learned that neither the driver or passenger were the owner and they could not produce any valid documentation for the vehicle.

The vehicle was towed and the driver was issued three traffic tickets for driving without holding an operator’s licence, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and for the tail light infraction.

The two suspects were released from the scene afterwards.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Edson RCMP confirmed with the owner that the truck had been stolen.

Both the driver and passenger were arrested that evening.

The driver, 27-year-old Jesse Michael Giles of Edson, was charged with theft of truck.

The passenger, 24-year-old Tristen Hunter Blue of Edson, was charged with theft of truck and fail to comply with a probation order.

Both suspects were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Edson Provincial Court on Mar. 1.
