In 2003, the movie Under The Tuscan Sun quietly entertained the masses with little fanfare. It was produced by Walt Disney and did not even break the top 50 films made that year. Movie theatres showed it for limited runs, because it was no match for Finding Nemo and the Matrix films. Freaky Friday and Scary Movie 3 even came ahead for the top grossing movies of 2003. The film quickly went to DVD and the rest was history. What no one expected was Under The Tuscan Sun became a film that would make any travel agent’s job easy when it came to booking a trip to Italy. Travel agencies around the world would recommend the movie as a must watch if their client were entertaining the thought of going to Italy. Remember what My Big Fat Greek Wedding did for tourism in Greece? The same could be said for Under The Tuscan Sun and Italy.

The reason the movie was so easy to recommend to friends and colleagues is because Diane Lane is the star. There is something about a Diane Lane film that really cannot be put into words. Her movies are genuine and raw with a hint of humility. Lane became the character that she was destined to be and she will forever be remembered as the lady who changed tourism in Italy.

The backdrop of Italy and Diane Lane renovating a villa with a bunch of Polish guys is why you should watch this film. If you are looking for a romantic comedy, this film will do the trick.
