Environment Canada is warning how wildfire smoke has caused poor air quality and reduced visibility in Jasper.

On July 15, a special air quality statement was issued for Jasper National Park near Jasper, Pocahontas and Sunwapta Falls.

Hinton was at a high-risk level of seven, according to the Air Quality Health Index.

Wildfire smoke consists of a constantly-changing mixture of particles and gasses, which includes many chemicals that can be detrimental to health.

Those with respiratory issues are advised to consider taking extra precautions to reduce their exposure.
