Drug delivery intercepted, charges laid
Jasper RCMP intercepted a package containing a pound of marijuana—with a street value of $6,500—before the courier could deliver it, May 10.
The interception was the result of a tip.
In relation to the case, 35-year-old Jasper resident Patrick Caperchoine has been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.
Caperchione is scheduled to appear in Jasper Provincial Court June 27.
“Penalties for those convicted of participating in the distribution of illicit marijuana can range from monetary fines to forfeiture of assets to incarceration,” states an RCMP press release.
