The RCMP will begin its rollout of body-worn cameras for RCMP officers across the country next week. It expects deployment of more than 10,000 cameras to be finished in the next 12 to 18 months.

Requests were generally modest and similar to last year’s funding amounts in recognition of the municipality’s strained finances following the wildfire.

On Oct. 23, an RCMP officer with the Roving Traffic Unit conducted a traffic stop with a pickup truck on Highway 16 and made several observations that led him to suspect the lone male occupant was in possession of illegal drugs.

Despite the reports of Harper taking over as board chair, his AIMCo membership has not been confirmed. The government intends to announce the new board next week.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has given 72-hour strike notice to Canada Post. The notice is for both the union's urban and rural and suburban bargaining units.
