A member of the public reported illegal drone use in Jasper National Park to Parks Canada law enforcement running a traffic check stop, and charges were laid against the drone operator.

Residents are encouraged to park RVs and trailers in residential driveways whenever possible to reduce roadway congestion, and using these vehicles for accommodation in public parking lots remains prohibited.

"It’s a community. We are a community hub. This is what the Legion does. I want to make sure that everybody in town is taken care of. This is what the Legion is supposed to be for."

"Our government is with you every step of the way to help you through the recovery of your homes, your businesses and your town," Premier Danielle Smith told Jasper residents during a telephone town hall.

The suspect approached these women from behind, forcibly pulled their pants down and took a photo each time, according to RCMP.

"We didn't know what to expect, with the town or our business. As we drove in, I just really wanted to take it all in. I wanted to honour and respect this beautiful place and what occurred here," says Jasper business owner.

RCMP will still conduct patrols within the townsite, which currently has limited services and no offerings for tourists.
