On Sept. 12, 2023, Jasper RCMP, in relation to an ongoing investigation into a spree of property thefts and 鈥渟mash-and-grabs鈥� from vehicles, arrested four individuals for which charges are pending.

Hinton RCMP has been receiving an increased number of complaints regarding asphalt-paving company scams in the area. The public have been reporting that out-of-town companies, claiming to be pavers, are offering their services at an inexpensive rate.
